Linda Ervine is a living, breathing riposte to lazy stereotyping. A proud Ulster unionist from East Belfast she is ex-president of the East Belfast GAA club and earned an MBE for her work in promoting the Irish language ‘Turas’ project. Her advocacy has attracted some criticism from unionists of a more traditional bent, but Linda, who traces her love of Irish back to a six-week initiation course in the language at the East Belfast Mission, remains quietly defiant and devoted to Irish. She will be in conversation with Gerry Foley.
