The Irish Aesthete: Irish Country Houses and Interiors

Robert O’Byrne

Venue: Courthouse – Meath County Council Stage

Inspired by his passionate interest in Ireland’s architectural heritage and concern for its preservation, in 2012 writer Robert O’Byrne created a blog called The Irish Aesthete. Now The Irish Aesthete is an established presence across social media, not least on Instagram where he has almost 38,000 followers. Architects, designers, decorators and historians from around the world now come to The Irish Aesthete for information on Ireland’s historic architecture. His latest book contains 150 of O’Byrne’s own selection of his best work from the blog with some of the tens of thousands of photographs he has taken, accompanied by descriptions and anecdotes. Robert will be in conversation with local conservation architect, Robert Miles.
